When renowned chess grandmasters such as Bobby Fischer, Garry Kasparov, or Magnus Carlsen are mentioned, it is their strategic prowess and tactical dominance, which sets them apart from others.

But it’s also their capacity to adjust and evolve their game plan in response to changing conditions that elevate them into a league of their own. Carlsen, for example, has achieved such a high level of unpredictability in his openings that pre-game computer analysis by his opponents is practically useless.

Top chess players also have an incredible amount of patience. A key component of reaching the top of your game is being able to occupy the middlegame without racing to the conclusion.
