There’s no doubt face-to-face is highly beneficial — even for service businesses.
But it doesn’t have to be full-time.
Brainstorming and connecting in-person can’t be replicated online.
However, for focused individual work, remote is hard to beat. Data shows remote workers take less sick time, work longer hours including evenings/weekends.
None of this is new.
So it seems odd that the balance between supporting in-person and remote work is reversing at many companies.
Because if you measure workforce by office hours rather than outputs, you have a much bigger problem…
