Do Entrepreneurs Ever Really Hang Up Their Hats?

Have you ever wondered what entrepreneurs do after they retire? This question comes up frequently for business owners who plan to sell their businesses in the next couple of years. However, the reality is that it’s rare for an entrepreneur to exit their business, retire, and do nothing.

Sure, they may take an extended holiday after the sale, but most entrepreneurs have something else in mind for their next chapter. Here are some of the most common paths I’ve heard from business owners looking to sell:

> Start another business or invest in one.

> Give back by creating a foundation, partnering with a charity, or making a meaningful social impact.

> Create content by writing a book, blogging, or starting a channel to share knowledge.

> Teach or mentor by running masterminds, events, or courses and supporting young entrepreneurs.

> Travel the world to explore new cultures, gain fresh perspectives, and make up for the lost time. They may even sail a yacht to the Caribbean or the Mediterranean.

> Develop a new skill and pursue personal interests and passions.

> Become a non-executive or join an advisory board.

> Focus on personal well-being because many business owners tend to neglect their health until they achieve financial freedom.
