Three pieces of bad advice I’ve heard in 2023 from owners:
1 — Cutting prices increases market share and revenue → Well, don’t expect higher valuations from destroying margins!
2 — Pursuing organic growth for 24–48 months will steady and ensure a lucrative exit → Acquirers won’t pay top dollar if growth fails to impress.
3 — You can scale and exit with the same early team → Maybe, but strategic partnerships can accelerate high valuations…
